APLA will reopen its doors on June 6 and 7, 2023 at the Sheraton Buenos Aires Hotel & Convention Center

May 25, 2023

Buenos Aires will host the 25th Latin American Logistics Meeting.

This event has become an unparalleled venue for updating on trends, strategies and technologies in the logistics of the petrochemical and chemical industry.

Throughout these 25 years, the logistics meeting has become the perfect occasion for the exchange of best practices and the generation of new business opportunities, as well as a valuable generator of professional relationships among peers, customers and suppliers.

The petrochemical and chemical industry is undergoing constant change, in line with the global trend towards greater regionalization of production. In this sense, the integration of Latin America is key in the region's exit strategies from the crisis.

In addition, sustainability in the supply chain is becoming increasingly important in corporate policies. Infrastructure challenges, the availability of maritime, road and rail transport, as well as the historical highs of ocean freight rates are key issues to analyze the sector.

In this context, the logistics meeting organized by APLA will present a 2-day agenda in which relevant thematic axes will be addressed, with accurate and updated information by industry experts and leading companies in the sector. Besides, there will be a technical visit to the Odfjell Terminal in Zárate/Campana.

This event provides an excellent opportunity for professionals to meet and update on process improvements, new technologies, digitalization and industry trends.

Take advantage of the opportunity to register at a preferential fee until May 12.

MACIG 2025 - Mining in Africa Country Investment Guide

It is said that mining is a patient industry. Current demand projections are not. Demand for minerals deemed ‘critical’ is set to increase almost fourfold by 2030, according to the UN. Demand for nickel, cobalt and lithium is predicted to double, triple and rise ten-fold, respectively, between 2022 and 2050. The world will need to mine more copper between 2018 and 2050 than it has mined throughout history. 2050 is also the deadline to curb emissions before reaching a point of ‘no return.’ The pace of mineral demand and the consequences of not meeting it force the industry to act fast and take more risks. Mining cannot afford to be a patient industry anymore. The scramble for supply drives miners back to geological credentials, and therefore to places like the African Central Copperbelt.
